How to Make Glass Tile Pendants and Magnets
Some Beauties made with Italian Paper
Materials List
• Clear glass tiles
• Diamond Glaze
• Mod Podge
• Krazy Glue or E6000
• Sandpaper or Metal File
• Glue on Bails
• Images: Laser prints, decorative paper, Japanese papers, wrapping paper, scrapbooking paper, maps, images from books etc.
• Wax paper, freezer paper, or any nonstick surface
1. Choose your image. Cut with paper punch or scissors.
2. Apply a thin layer of Diamond Glaze to the back (rough side) of the glass tile. Some glass is smooth on both sides-- either side will do (obvy)
3. Take the glass tile, put it glue side down on your image, and press down firmly. This will spread the Diamond glaze and get rid of any bubbles. This step makes the texture of the glass disappear and also makes the image pop!
4. Let dry for 30 minutes.
5. Trim any excess paper with scissors or a craft knife.
6. You may leave the back of the pendant plain. The back may be sealed with a clear drying varnish/glue such as Mod Podge or Diamond Glaze.
7. You may also add decorative paper to spice up the back. Apply a layer of mod podge to your decorative paper. Press the pendant firmly. Let dry. Trim excess.
8. If you have any rough edges now is the time to smooth those away with a nail file, sandpaper, or a metal file.
9. You are now ready to glue the bail or magnet to the back of the pendant. Put a small drop of E6000 industrial glue on the bail. Press firmly on the back of the pendant. This should dry over night. You may also use Krazy glue, or other glass/jewelry adhesive.
10. You are now ready to make these for all your friends or even start your own business!
